THE PROGRESSIVE LENSES OF THE SMARTLIFE 3 FAMILY

The progressive lenses of the Smartlife 3 family benefit from the new ZEISS SmartView 2.0 technology.

More concretely, this technology is based on three pillars:

• Intelligent Dynamic Optics: Optimization of the ZEISS design for today's dynamic visual behavior across all ages. Age-Linked
• Intelligence: Visual challenges change with age. Therefore, Age-Linked Intelligence considers the wearer's age for specific optimization of the lenses. 
• Clear Optics and Thin Optics: Enable selective optimization of each individual point where the glasses wearer looks through the lens. This ensures optimal vision across the entire lens surface. ZEISS lenses offer the best balance between excellent optics and thin, lightweight lenses.

SO, WHAT IS INTELLIGENT DYNAMIC OPTICS?

Intelligent Dynamic Optics is based on binocular vision for today's dynamic visual behavior. The key factor is the ratio between the tilt and the object/viewing distance (which is increasingly closer due to cellphone use). A three-dimensional object-space model is used to design the lens, taking into account distance, direction, and tilt relative to the eyeglass lens.

In addition to the three-dimensional object-space model, SmartLife Individual 3 Progressive Lenses use new design fingerprints (distribution of vision zones). The object-space model and the new fingerprint take into account dynamic visual behavior from near to far, leading to a smoother transition to the periphery of the lens with fewer blurred areas than before.

AND AGE-LINKED INTELLIGENCE?

Age-Linked Intelligence means that different aspects, mainly related to age, are considered in the design of each lens. For example, the wearer's age and the corresponding physiological and anatomical changes in the eye are taken into account.

The visual needs of different age groups can be grouped into the following general categories:

6-19 years | Clear vision, adapting to eyes and lifestyle while growing

20+ years | + Clear vision, both near and far

Using three technologies, age-specific parameters are integrated into the lens design:

• ZEISS Luminance Design 2.0 technology considers the size of the pupil, which evolves with age.
• ZEISS Dynamic AgeFit technology integrates changes in facial anatomy, especially in children and young people.
• ZEISS Intelligence Augmented Design (IAD) technology adapts lens design to individual visual behavior using intelligent data science. With IAD, collected data can be optimized by integrating it into the final lens design.
