Childhood myopia: discover MiYOSMART iQ
Did you know that nearly one in three children in Canada has myopia between the ages of 11 and 13?¹ This visual condition is becoming increasingly common and can continue to progress throughout a child’s growth.
Fortunately, solutions are now available that go beyond simply correcting vision. MiYOSMART® lenses are one example.
What Are MiYOSMART® Lenses?
MiYOSMART® is a range of lenses developed by HOYA to help manage the progression of myopia in children and teenagers. The patented D.I.M.S. (Defocus Incorporated Multiple Segments) technology integrated into MiYOSMART® lenses is based on several years of clinical research and has demonstrated its effectiveness in helping slow the progression of myopia in children.³⁻⁶
Today, MiYOSMART® is used in more than 50 countries and is supported by over 100 scientific publications.
An innovation that evolves with children’s needs
Building on several years of research and clinical experience, HOYA now introduces MiYOSMART® iQ, the latest evolution in its range of myopia-control lenses.² ¹⁰⁻¹²
This new generation incorporates D.I.M.S. T.E.D.™ (Triple Enhanced Design) technology, which enhances the already recognized D.I.M.S. technology.⁷⁻⁹
Specifically, this innovation includes:
• an expanded treatment zone;
• an increased level of defocus;
• optimized positioning of the treatment zones closer to the centre of the lens.
These improvements were designed to act more effectively on certain areas of the retina involved in controlling myopia progression.⁷⁻⁹

Promising results for MiYOSMART iQ
Presented at the ARVO 2026 Annual Meeting, the first clinical results for MiYOSMART iQ are particularly encouraging.¹⁰⁻¹¹
After 12 months of wear:
• 9 out of 10 children showed no progression of their myopia;
• researchers observed an average myopia progression close to zero;
• eye growth remained minimal;
• the visual performance observed was comparable to that offered by MiYOSMART® lenses.
MiYOSMART iQ is also the first HOYA lens whose clinical efficacy has been demonstrated in children as young as 4 years old.¹⁰⁻¹¹
Lenses designed for families’ everyday lives
Beyond myopia control, MiYOSMART iQ was designed to provide a comfortable and durable everyday experience.¹²
