For spring and summer 2015, it’s all about contrasts. The sun is out, so get ready to play and experiment with your style. From the ballerina to the sporty city girl, this season has something for everyone.

Bohemian Chic

The ′70s are back, baby! Release your inner bohemian goddess and channel the Osheaga and Coachella vibes. Tassels and suede have never looked so good. Pair flared jeans with a flowing printed shirt and suede shoulder-strap bag for a look straight out of Woodstock. When the temperature rises, take the kimono-maxi-dress plunge. Top everything off with essential accessories—long necklaces, an armful of bracelets, and a ring on every finger. Time to let your inner bohemian come out and play!

Summer Romance

Let the summer warm your romantic heart and shine a light on your feminine side. This look can be summed up in one word: ethereal. Skirts and loose, flowing pants will have you looking like you just came from the dance studio. Or try a tulle skirt with a t-shirt and sandals. Focus on light fabrics in pale and pastel hues. Mix silk and satin with tulle and lace. Designers to watch: Valentino and Giorgio Armani.

Denim, Reinvented

This season, denim is back in full force. Jeans are getting a makeover, and they’re being paired with denim tops as designers play mix-and-match with different colours and textures. Yes, that’s right: after years as a major fashion faux pas, all-denim is in! So bust out your Canadian Tuxedo and wear it with pride. Pairing different-coloured pieces is the key to an edgy look. Oh and those patches and overalls you gave away in the early 2000s, you’re going to want those too.

Sporty in the City

Love sportswear but hate going to the gym? Don’t worry, so do we. The key is to find a look that’s somewhere between urban sophisticate and sports-casual. That’s why you’ll be mixing luxurious fabrics (silk, linen, etc.) with more casual ones (cotton, polyester, etc.). Stretchy shorts with a see-through shirt are a must, as are mesh and swimwear-style tops. Not sure you can pull it off? Just look to Gwen Stefani for inspiration—she’s the high priestess of sporty chic.
