Summer is drawing to an end! Time to put away shorts and bathing suits and look forward to cool breezes, bright autumn foliage and the smell of dried leaves on the ground. This year, we revisit and update the classic wardrobe.
Find your inner aristocrat, practice your manners and polish your style! That’s our prescription for rocking this trend with elegance and sophistication. Cherish satin, velvet and lace. Embrace capes, frilly shirts and riding boots in navy blue, brown, beige and pastel colours. Wear your hair in a braided chignon or a slicked ponytail, and you’ll walk out the door with poise and flair.
Wear warm hues while you take in the bright fall colours! Golden beige, rusty orange, burgundy, deep brown – these staple colours of the season go hand in hand with bohemian fashion. We love wearing long skirts or dresses with floral motifs, flowing loose knits and dark lace while playing with transparency.
We’ve said it time and again, this year marks the return of the 80s and 90s in all their glory. This season, try the retro-chic look, and wear mauve, pink or emerald green in leather, tulle or ribbed velvet. Be bold about mixing textures. Remember Madonna wearing the combination of a leather jacket and a pink tutu inspired by Jean-Paul Gaultier. We also love metallic rose gold leather, one of the most fashionable fabrics this year (see Simons bag and Topshop shoes above), and fake fur in electric colours or leopard print. But avoid wearing these two textures simultaneously, to emphasize one accent at a time.
