Undoubtedly, glasses are a must-have accessory for this summer. Whether they be sunglasses or ophthalmic glasses, they are the darlings of bloggers and designers have even decided to make them the only accessory of their shows during the last New York Fashion Week. They are now an integral part of our wardrobes and must be carefully chosen. Here are four major frame trends to help you start the summer in style.

Cat eyes

Still very trendy this season, the 60’s is slowly losing its vintage spirit. Metallic details, bold patterns or a colourful border are added to this classic shape to give it a more modern touch. Dolce & Gabbana has reinterpreted cat eyes this season with a golden pattern reminiscent of Baroque paintings. These glasses are the perfect accessory to add a touch of boldness and flair to your outfit.

Flowery fields

Flowers are everywhere this year… including glasses. Characterized by patterns, subtle textures or embossing, rest assured that this trend will make you look trendy and feminine. It will be all the rage this summer.

Style statement

Very noticeable at the Spring-Summer Fendi show, imposing frames are a hit this season. Choose deconstructed geometric shapes, matte coloured borders or surprising colour combinations. This flamboyant trend is a great excuse to get out of your comfort zone. Will you dare? You can also match it with a more sober outfit to balance it out.

Back to the 70's

Round glasses are very trendy this season, for both men and women. A hybrid between the hippie years and late-90’s grunge (think Steve Jobs), this kind of frame will give you a high fashion and determined look. Choose a gold or silver sleek frame with slightly tinted glasses for a sophisticated look.
